It’s been a while since I wrote an update. Since it’s coming to the end of October, I thought that it’s quite apt to just sit and have a chat because I felt like it. It’s been a while since I did that and this month has just flown past so fast that it will be the new year soon. I’ve also been inundating you with a lot of my New Zealand stories so I imagine you all probably need a break from it all. So here’s one on me instead!
When I started writing again in August, I wrote that I have been a little bit sick. Well, it’s nothing major but I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in April this year after I returned from New Zealand. I wouldn’t say that I got sick during my travelling (I do recall some signs before I left) but the signs definitely got more noticeable after I got home. People noticed that my eyes were slightly protruding which was due to Graves’ Disease, one of hyperthyroidism’s symptoms. Another reason why you don’t see any close-ups of me in my photos. It’s just been quite unsettling trying to adjust to my new face.
I won’t go into too much details on hyperthyroidism as a lot of the information is available online. I would say that I’ve been on medication for the last 6 months and I’m finally feeling like I’m back to normal or as I tell my friends, my “new” normal. It’s been a frustrating 6 months dealing with the ups and downs of it but I’m hopeful that my condition will finally be stabilizing (fingers crossed!). I do have another year or two of medication so it’s definitely not the end of the road for me but this is still a good start. Yay!
Due to my condition, I had to stop my travelling for a little while so I’ve got to admit I miss travelling a lot. I did travel in June and July this year for 2 short trips but I wasn’t able to enjoy myself fully so I decided to take time off travel and focus on my health instead. I couldn’t resist for too long though so I’m headed to my second home S-e-o-u-l for Christmas week. Double Yay!
Blogwise, you will probably be kept entertained with my New Zealand stories for a wee bit more. I still have some posts in mind, especially for Halloween. Even though it’s not my usual posting day, I will have one up for Halloween because I had a ghostly encounter during one of my drives in New Zealand. Please do wait and anticipate it, please. Everyone was creeped out when I told them the story so I would love to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂
I still have untold stories from my travels in Europe, Taiwan and Korea though so I’ll keep posting when I can. There’s also a few that I’ve been wanting to post on Singapore as well. I’ve just been a little bit reclusive these past few months so I haven’t felt like venturing out much during weekends. I’ve been good so far though so I don’t want to jinx myself too early with my posting schedules. No promises! Hehe…
Anyway, do catch up with me on my seriously lacking social media platforms. I try to update my instagram (@lifetomyfullest) when I feel like it and I unleash my wittiness on unsuspecting peeps on twitter (@lifetomyfullest) when I bother to visit. So please do follow me there for any updates. Thanking you very prettily. >_<
October flew past so fast and November is starting soon. The new year is coming on so fast! What about about you? Do you have any upcoming travel plans before the end of the year? Or any new resolutions to finish off? Please do share! 🙂
